Hello my Friend!

Tampa is the new San Fran.  Ok, not really.  Buuuuuut….we did just get an amazing venue downtown.  Oxford Exchange.  Doesn’t it just sound fancy?  It’s right across the street from the University of Tampa and underwent an incredible renovation this past September.  The building is 122 years old.  The new multi-use space was built with the feel of English shops and clubs.  I had a meeting there yesterday and was blown away when I arrived.

The architecture and details are heaven.  It houses a cozy bookstore, a shop of diverse finds, tea and coffee choices to share on leather couches, a private club area for meetings and lunches, interior design services (ah, no wonder!), special events venue and restaurant with inside and open-roof areas.

You can definitely judge a place by the bathrooms and check out this one.  I could live in there.

I sat down for grilled cheese, kale chips and mango mandarin tea.

photo

Beverage wise, they only serve teas right now, but their liquor license is coming from what my contact told me.  Here’s a peek at the menu the day I went.

photo

If I lived closer, I would hang out here all the time.

photo

Such a mix of character in keeping the old, with modern touches.

You can tell nothing was spared, including the choices of items in the shop.  I was in there forever as you can imagine.

photo

They’re only open early morning to late afternoon.  Evenings are saved for events, which I’m sure are perfect in the different spaces available.

So, check out Oxford Exchange next time you can.  It’s a cool, big-city addition to the FL.  Thumbs up.  Way up!

Colorful Finds

Hello my Friend!

I haven’t been to Anthropologie in forever and I’m kinda glad that it’s not really close to my house.  From the moment I walk in that place, it’s like sensory overload.  The clothes aren’t really my style, but oh how I love the home decor and jewelry areas.

How adorable are these classic books?  The graphic paper is so cute!  I’m imagining how amazing they would look on bookshelves.

photo

I’m a huge fan of hot tea.  Such a great gift idea to fill one of these mugs with different tea packets, honey, a dishtowel, etc.

photo

Heaven is in these bins.  When I was re-decorating the house last summer, I was obsessed with Anthropologie’s knobs.  They are the easiest way to change up furniture.  I was actually talking to one of the girls there about using different knobs on a piece of wood, to hang necklaces on.  This would totally go along with turning our spare bedroom into a dressing room idea….

photo

I’ve seen their tin letters a lot in decor, but the large painted ones are new.  Each letter has a different mural-type scene on it.

photo

I’m always on the hunt for cool lampshades–especially extra large ones.  Fun fabrics and textures.

photo

Ah…the kitchen area.  Again, this is your go-to place if you’re needing a unique gift.

photo

Super cute timers for $12.

photo

I saw these and sat down on one of the couches to look through them.  They’re books on how to spend 36 hours in different cities–broken down by parts of the US ($14.99 each).

I went right to the California section.  Not sure if you can read it, but it basically shows you where you can spend each day of a weekend in each place, by hours.

photo

Then they told me about the “big” ones.  Ugh–when I saw these I was contemplating getting both ($39.99 each).  I really want them.  One is a mack-daddy one of major cities in the US and the other showcases parts of Europe.  Love the ribbon book-markers in them too.

photo

I walked away, but seriously can’t stop thinking about em.  Great, now I’m probably going to dream about them too.  Hate when that happens.  It sort of consumes you when you see something and just can’t get it out of your head.

Such good finds!

Mountain Machine

Hello my Friend!

We’re back from our week skiing in Telluride.  That place is beyond magical.  It will never get old, no matter how many times we go (I think this was the 9th or 10th time).  Can you say lucky?

Image

Actually, it was so warm (at one point I was actually laying out), that we ended up hiking and fishing too.  I get total props for being such an outdoorsy-gal.

Trying to rock the fishing pants….

The 2.5 hour hike in the snow to the waterfall–that I conquered twice I might add.  Holla.

Kelly and Janet ended up surprising us when we got there.  LOVED it!!!  We were so bummed that they said they couldn’t go this year.  I was crying of course.

Img_0041

I’m working on my big blog about the trip–trying to put together a story for my over 300 pictures-oh my.

Img_0339

Along with all of our activites, we actually relaxed a ton!  Check out the deck!!  Gorgeous.

I was also a major reading machine.  I read all 3 of the Hunger Games books (gave one away already) and the new James Patterson book.  Definitely recommend all of them.

I’m going to see the Hunger Games movie this weekend with the girls.  Can’t wait.  CW is stupified at how fast I read.  Too bad there’s not a way to make some serious cash by speed reading.  Or, is there??
