Merry Christmas My Friends!!

Hello my Friend!  That’s a wrap on Christmas 2012.  I’m tired just thinking about taking down and packing away all of the decorations.

December 24th is Wrigley’s birthday.  She turned EIGHT this year.  We got her the year after I moved here to Florida.  Crazy.  She’s the best pup–such a sweet soul.  I took her outside for a little photo shoot with her birthday hat on.

She will just lay there and pose like the best dog actors out there.

Give me a serious face…

A penny for your thoughts…

The night before we had headed over to J&E’s to exchange gifts with them and the kids.  We had such a fun night.  The girls and I did our new tradition of sidewalk subway art (like we did at Thanksgiving).

Emma hard at work…

We need to invest in some more chalk.  We’re out now.

CW was the DJ and we were all jamming.  Here’s Abby-his protege.

Photo

Olivia was a happy baby all night.  Clapping, dancing, playing….a little ball of energy.  A tad blurry, as I think this was in the middle of a dance move….

Photo

Of course Jeff and Tanner let off some fireworks.  Check out the gorgeous sky!

My brother and his fam drove to Iowa to spend the weekend with my parents, so I’ll show you some cute Brennan pics in a later post.  He was a huge fan of making cookies, or so it seemed =)  OH–if you’ve been following my saga of the missing package with ALL of their gifts…it showed up today….nine days later.  So now my mom has to ship all of the other gifts to my brother–but, I guess I should just be thankful it wasn’t stolen and did show up.  How random that they hadn’t been able to find any info. on it from the time it left Tampa..until it showed up at the post office yesterday afternoon..ON Christmas.  Weird.  I had to ship out some other things today–and used UPS fyi.

When we got home that night CW was licked to death by Wrigs and Gooser.  Every time he walks in the door he goes straight to this rug and they have a little love fest.  They missed us.  I love those furry faces.

Photo

We hung out at home Christmas Eve, which was really nice and relaxing, so we decided to go over to Clearwater Beach on Christmas day.  Why not–we live in Florida.  If I can’t have snow, I’ll take the sand.  We LOVE the Sandpearl Resort over there, so that was our destination.  First thing you saw in the lobby was this huge scene made out of SAND!!!  Come on–who can make all of that out of sand and how do they get it to stay so secure?  Look at that detail!

Img_2706

We lucked out with the best table at the outside restaurant.  Right in the corner with the best view.  Can’t beat that.

Photo

The bonfire was going strong and as the sun started to go down, it was the place to be (obviously not at THIS exact moment luckily–so I could get a good photo).

Merry Christmas to you!!!!

Img_2711

They were showing Christmas movies on a big, inflatable screen at the pool.  It was pretty funny to see people swimming watching Elf.

Img_2727

Here’s where our table was.  What a sunset!!!

A little red in the sky for the holidays….

Hoping your Christmas was full of love and laughter and wishing you a healthy New Year my friends.

Cute Cards

Hello my Friend!

The cards are rolling in and I love it!!  I’ve had to move on to displaying them on the cabinets too–since the door was filling up.  I saw an idea to take pictures of your holiday cards and use it as the “contact photo” on your phone for each person.  I’m def doing that this year.

Img_2679

So many cute pics this year.  Look how big the B-Man is getting….and I’m sure you can imagine how much I love when people include their pets on cards….

Img_2685

Oh Em Gee I am majorly obsessed with my cousin’s dog.  I stare at their card every year.  Hope they don’t mind that I’m posting it on here =)  It’s one of my favorites.  They live in Minnesota and Buddis is a big, amazing, sweet bear/pup who probably is a happy camper with all of the snow that they are getting there.  I want to play with him!!

Img_2682

Speaking of playing, I was over at my friend Kelly’s place the other day and as I was leaving her son Connor gave me one of the snowflakes he had made.  So sweeeeeeet.  He said that his mom made the snowflake, but he had put the glitter on it.

Img_2686

I told him the glitter was the best part and it’s now proudly displayed on my fridge….

Jingle Balls, Jingle Balls

Hello my Friend!

I’m so happy to hear from some of you that you’re finding inspiration with my Christmas decorations this year!!  That’s so nice.  Let’s be honest–you can also thank Pinterest.  I think I’m done with “misison decorating”.  I didn’t even put up a lot of our stuff this year and I gave away a few bags of decorations that I knew I wasn’t going to use.  I’m trying to de-clutter going forward.

So-I got a couple of texts that you want to see the big, fat decorations closer up.  Ok…

Cable-knit balls…

Glittered snowflakes…

Img_2515

I love sequins…

Img_2513

We still put up the ornaments that we collect from all of our travels…

Img_2507

disco balls….

Img_2511

and more sparkly balls…

Img_2509

I moved the shiny reindeer to the tall windows (you can actually see them from the street)

Img_2535
Img_2531

I am slightly obsessed with Target’s line of cable-knit accessories (as you can tell)….

Img_2519

I finally decided how I’m going to hang our cards this year.  I usually tape ribbon to the walls, but with the new paint, I just can’t do it.  Ribbon on the pantry door it is (I’m using pins to attach the cards).

Img_2517

I’ve been hanging these red snowflakes on the doorknobs and cutting off the string on some of them to put on various pictures/frames on the walls.  Hello, cheap.

Img_2521

Ohhhhhh—so, I’ve been wanting to tell you about one of my favorite things this season and today it all unraveled.  I’m in LOVE with these reed diffusers from Target (there’s not a brand name on them, I find them on those side displays near the candles).

Img_2527

The Amber Cranberry is awesome.  I have them throughout the house.  Really clean smelling, with a hint of goodness.  Not too much, just enough.

Img_2528

Back to the unraveling.  Do you see how Gooser’s picture is propped on the wall?  Yeah, that’s because the easel part broke today.  Why?  Because I knocked the frame and the “OIL” reed diffuser off of the entire stairway.  It was like a movie, down, down it went.  Somehow I thought that I could run down the stairs before it would actually do any damage. Wrong!  3 chunks out of the wall (ugh–see that hole on the right by the stair–even after I touched it up with paint) and of course the oil from the diffuser dumped into a huge flood on the NEW carpet.  Why, oh why!??!!!

Img_2522

Anyways, speaking of the stairs, I usually wrap lighted garland around the banister.  This year I decided to just wrap these red berries…

Img_2544

and hang a few plain wreaths down the banister, hung with yarn.  I used up the last of this gray and white striped yarn on this project.  What a bargain that one yarn roll was–I used it on 6 wreaths!!!

Img_2546

Maybe by next year I’ll have painted the banister black and they’ll look even better!!  Always got to have a project….

Img_2550

Thank you to Pinterest, thank you to Joanne’s and your coupons and thank you to my second home, Target, for always making me feel welcome with new, amazing finds.

Is there anything better than sitting in the dark with the tree lit?

Fa-la-la-la-la….

Hello my Friend!

The tree is done.  Fa-la-la-la-la….la-la-la-laaaaa.

Love the big huge cable knit ornaments and sequined balls.  Go big or go home.  That was the motto this year….although this tree is only 8ft.  Next year–10….

Img_4786

I finished up the tree while watching the lighting of the Rockefeller Center tree in NYC.  That thing is mesmerizing.  Think they said there are something like 45,000 lights on it.  Mine has 700.

Img_4749

CW and I found these aweome red and green ball light things at Home Depot.  Since we have curtain rods on our patio, I did some rigging and wa-lah…..they look cool from the other side of the lake when you’re driving in.

Img_4756

This is Goose’s fav spot.

Img_4785

Until she does Goose-a-saurus.  I showed you some pics of her when we first put the tree up.  Thank the lord she hasn’t gotten caught up in the lights and I made sure not to put ornaments down low.  She’s still intent on doing FOUR rounds around the tree rubbing her back and head…in-slow-motion.  Hmmm…does she have problems?  Oh well.

Img_4774

Where does Wrigs like to be?  Right here–looking at the perty tree.  Can you see her?

Img_4794

I found some great little battery-operated lights this year.  Our girls Janet and Kelly (who were visiting from Cali this weekend) sent us this fab wreath!  How cute are the starfish and sand dollars?  They knew that I’d been holiday decorating with reds and whites, so they went with the theme and chose the one with the white ribbon.  Muah, thanks for playing along with me!  I added some lights and it’s gorg on the front door.

Photo

My chalkboard found its home back on the little side table.

Img_4800

OHHHHH—every year I tell you about that crazy albino frog that stalks me.  I swear to GA-it’s back.

Img_4850

He scared the crap out of me last night.  He just sits there waiting…then he moves to the glass above the door and watches us.

Img_4851

I would much rather have these faces in my face…
