Hello my Friend!
Hey, Hey there. Did I miss something? Is it doomsday? An apocalypse? I woke up this morning to some insane, LOUD, crazy bird noises. Living on a golf course I’ve become somewhat accustomed to the fact that we have gators, deer, jumping fish, turtles (do you remember the one who was at my front door a couple years ago?), lizards, scorpions, possums….and of course birds. Today was different. I looked out the window, grabbed my camera and headed out the patio door.
What in the holy h*ll was happening out there?????? Do you see all of those birds?
Ducks, birds, vultures, cranes…they were everywhere….all lined up along the entire perimeter of the lake!!
It was freaky!
Swimming around in slow motion, like little loch ness monsters….
I couldn’t help but just stare (and ask a couple of birds in close proximity what was going on). I was fully prepared for them to attack me, like in one of the horror movies that I continue to watch at night.
Even the golf course “cart girl” stopped and stared. The golfers….they just continued on like nothing out of the ordinary was happening around them. Weird.
I wonder if they’re going to be back tomorrow morning….I hope not. I’m a bit disturbed.
FYI-this is going to be a haphazard post of random thoughts, so moving on….
I was over at my friend Angela’s last weekend with the girls and we tried out some new apps. Ellen had made this raspberry brie over the holidays. I tried it out and it was super easy. Just take one container of low fat crescent rolls, spread raspberry jam on it, place a round brie on top and pull up all of the sides of crescent dough to cover the brie round. Pop it in the oven until it starts to bubble. It was fantastic!
Let’s have a moment of silence for the fact that Ro actually tackled an app. This is quite a feat for our cooking-challenged girl. A+ on her first try of this 5-layer dip.
Angela’s chicken salad on cucumbers were the perfect light-bite to break things up.
Switching gears to fashion…I’m a tad obsessed right now with layering necklaces, especially my new fave beaded one from Twisted Silver and my acrylic, tortoise-colored “S”.
Oh-let me show you my new ski pants! Ca-ute, huh?
Speaking of skiing, I’ve been enjoying the colder weather that’s been happening here in the FL the last few days. I was going through the closet and came across these great black boots. Since I’m really into gold (jewelry) right now, the silver metal on the boots was driving me a litle nuts. I know….don’t ask. I have issues. What to do?
I grabbed this guy…
and started coloring in all of the metal….so far so good!
Loving them. They’re like new boots. I even wore them in the rain to see if the black would scuff off. Not yet. Guess I’ll just keep the sharpie in my purse for emergencies. HA!
UPDATE: I woke up this morning (the day after the “coming of the birds” day) and nada…there was not one bird hanging out at or around the lake. What the….
