Love Uncommon

Hello my Friend!

Every year I show you a few of my fav things from one of my fav sites, Uncommon Goods.  They always have the greatest items and gifts.

Check out these interchangable Corkcicle wine toppers.  Choose from the red or white sets for $17.95.

Wine

“A Date with Wine” stopper for $60 bucks.  You can set the date on it that you opened the wine-love it!  Smart.

I’m also amazed by the unique artwork they feature.  This “All the guitars in Tennessee” is fantastic by James G. Hancock (we love Nashville)!  Too bad I’ve already decided on what I’m getting CW, cause this would be perfect in the house.  $185 framed.

Nash

and of course the “All the mountains in Colorado” is right up our alley.

Mountain

I SOOOOOO need this portable Iphone charger (the black and aqua one)–and ca-ute for $35!  You just charge it before you go somewhere and it will give you an extra 3 hours if needed.

Phone

It seems like lots of peeps have been having babies–or are about to lately.  Birth announcement pillows in 5 colors for $100.

Baby

I love these Rope Knot Doorstops for some reason.  Totally random, but would come in handy for a couple of our doors that don’t stay shut completely and 2 pups who always seem to figure out how to open…for $40.

Rope

How fun is this USA Scratch Map?  When you scratch off a state with a coin, the red color is revealed, with the cities in the state.  Great way to track your travels!  $24.

These Novel Posters are so cool.  It’s created using the TEXT of the book!!  In Great Gatsby, Wizard of Oz, Pride & Prejudice, Huckleberry Finn, The Odyssey and Alice in Wonderland formats.  $40-$160 framed and unframed.

Now, back to tending to making my list of people and gifts to buy for…in preparation for Cyber Monday.  I got distracted on this site =)  Happy Shopping!!

Friday or Monday?

Hello my Friend!

Do you Black Friday or do you Cyber Monday?  Yes, I realize that I’m speaking like they’re “verbs”.  I have always been a Cyber Monday-er.  No Black Friday craziness for me.  No sir-e-bob.  Well, part (ok, most) of that reason has always been because I’m anything BUT a morning person.  Getting up earlier than needed, even to shop, just doesn’t seem worth it to me.

I’m not jealous of those of you that get up at the crack of dawn, stand in line, fight for your goods and battle the madness.  Good for you-I just don’t want to be you.  The only plans I have that day are to meet my girl Alyssa for some wine–yep, I have priorities.

Cyber

But once Monday gets here, you can find me on a barstool at my kitchen counter, eyes focused on my computer, scouring the Internet like it’s my job (I really wish it COULD be my job).  I always order our Christmas cards from Shutterfly that day because they have such great discounts and free shipping.  Committing to it that day ensures that our cards are here at the beginning of December.  Then I can take my time writing out all of those envelopes (I send a TON of cards out) without rushing.

For my Cyber Monday doubters, here are some of the deals that you can expect–via RetailMeNot and the coupon codes you’ll need.

West Elm has free gift monogramming.  I am a huge fan of monogramming.  It means that you put thought into your gift.

At Famous Footwear you can get 40% off women’s boots.

Sephora is giving a free designer make-up bag and 14 samples with any $25 purchase.

Kohl’s up to 35% off of Disney Princess and Barbie toys.

It’s a great day to book travel too.  Most of the major sites like Orbitz, Travelocity, Hotels.com, BookIt.com, etc. have BIG discounts this day.

On Snapfish you can get 50% off photo canvases.

Gap has up to 60% off sitewide and free shipping.

Carter’s 50% off everything online and free shipping.

Lands End has 30% off sitewide and free shipping.

Amazon over 25% off American girl dolls and accessories (among many other deals).

Home Depot $500 off most appliances, free delivery/haul away (we need a new refrigerator, so maybe this is our reason to stop procrastinating).

Just go to RetailMeNot to look through all of the deals and get the coupon codes-if they’re not listed on the individual store sites.

My task this weekend is to get started writing our list of who we need to buy for and budgets.  Last year I saved a ton on shipping by being organized on sites like Amazon-multiple family members done in one click!

Happy Black Friday or Cyber Monday to you.  To each their own!!

UPDATE:  Here’s another extensive list for all of the bargains, with store/site names A to Z…via Yahoo.  Click here.  You’re welcome my friend.

Time at Tarjay

Hello my Friend!  I am a sucker for Target.  What is it with that place?  I go in for maybe 4 things and somehow start wandering the aisles…especially the candle section…

I picked up this guy (ah…yum)!

Then mosey’d over to these.  Hmmm…I like the look of them…

Pretty modern for an air diffuser, right?

Don’t ya just love the new “Shops at Target”?  I bet those little businesses feel like they hit the jackpot being on the shelves in Tarjay.  The colors drew me to this section…

What a great little gift these would be.

Oh great, ones that I want to eat…

Yep, I ended up buying the Lemonade and Taffy air diffusers.  Our spare bathroom smells like major candy.

Then I ran in to Giada (from Food Network).  I didn’t know she had all of these sauces and oils.  Again, a great gift idea in a basket.

Now, I try to tell myself I’m not allowed to walk through the clothes section every time I walk in the door.  Sometimes it works.  Sometimes it doesn’t.  By far the comfiest and softest pants (crop pants) are these in the sleepwear section.  $15.  I’m pretty sure this is them on their site.

I’ve seen these great little numbered stools, but I don’t have anywhere to put them (I know, shocker).  They’re on sale right now for under $18 each (if you have room).

I grabbed a couple of these little end tables back when we got rid of a lot of furniture and then had to move everything else for the carpet installers.  They’re like $12 or something and come in different colors.  Super easy to twist on the legs.  Well, now that we have all of our new furniture I think I’m going to re-vamp them.

I love the look of nailheads like these from the blog Space Says.  I’ll have to grab some.  Another quick project on the horizon….

On a random note, Ellen got me the coolest little vase from her recent trip.  I love handmade things around the house that have meaning.  Thanks lady!!

I know just where it’s going =)
