Hello my Friend!

I’m baaaaaack!!!  The mountains were SO good to us–they even stranded us for an extra 2 days.  We finally made it home late last night.  That’s a crazy story in itself, that I’ll delve into when I get settled back into normal life.  I wonder how long it will take me to unpack our 4 bags of luggage?!

Once again, it was an incredible 11-day trip of sun, snow, skiing and great food in a little nugget on earth called Telluride.  Here are a few pics until I get all of my photos and thoughts together….

The day we flew in, it was gorgeous and clear out…thank the lord.  It’s the highest airport in the US and you literally land on a teeny, little runway ON a mountain.  This is the moment right before we landed…please make it, please make it, please make it (what I was chanting in my head).

Ahhhhh…..haaaaaaa…..it’s like the angels sing when you’re in this place. Hallelujah…..

We had days of beautiful snow too…this was Superbowl Sunday (notice my hat – for my San Fran girls).

How we watched the game….all cozy with the snow coming down all night.  Perfect.  That Budweiser-tear-jerking commerical was the winner, winner, chicken dinner for sure!!

After a couple more days of sun, the crazy whiteouts came later in the week..hence, why we were stranded for a couple of days longer than planned (ah–yes, I realize that you’re thinking of our safety in the 19-seater).  This is the view while on the gondola–the SAME vantage point from the sunny pic I posted up above.  Crazy–in a good way =)

We didn’t get any fresh snow on our trip there last year, so this year we were beyond ecstatic!!
